East Sussex, South Downs and Brighton & Hove Minerals and Waste Sites Plan

East Sussex, South Downs and Brighton & Hove Minerals and Waste Sites Plan

The East Sussex, South Downs and Brighton & Hove Waste and Minerals Sites Plan (WMSP) is a joint Plan being prepared by East Sussex County Council, the South Downs National Park Authority and Brighton & Hove City Council (The Authorities).

A Public Examination into the legal compliance and the ‘soundness’ of the WMSP began when the Plan was submitted to Government in April 2016. Public Hearings were held between 2nd and 4th August 2016.

Prior to and during the Public Examination the Authorities proposed a number of modifications to the WMSP.

A public consultation on these proposed modifications ended on the 7th October 2016.

The Planning Inspector has considered the Plan and has published his report.

His report can be downloaded from the East Sussex County Council website .

It is currently anticipated that the three authorities will adopt the joint Plan in early 2018.
