The South Downs National Park Authority cares for the landscapes, wildlife and heritage of National Park and helps people to learn about and enjoy the area.  We also have an important role to support the local communities that live and work here.

SDNPA are embarking on a new and exciting programme to support health and social care providers to better understand and use the special qualities of the national park in promoting health and wellbeing in our local communities.

We need someone with a health/social care background coupled with a passion for the outdoor environment and a vision to develop an understanding of how the South Downs National Park can benefit health and wellbeing for communities in and around the National Park.

This is a new role for the SDNPA so to be appointed you need to bring and be able to grow your networks with stakeholders, particularly focussing on health networks and disadvantaged/hard to reach areas of the community, to develop and deliver our strategic goals.

This is a new initiative for the SDNPA so you will be able to influence strategic direction as work progresses and you build partnerships with, people and providers to really make a difference to the health and wellbeing of our local communities. You will also have a key role in making links across the organisation to the work that the Authority already does for Health and Well-Being.

If you think that you can add real value to this role and meet the person specification then we would like to hear from you.
