The emphasis of this role is to conserve and enhance the heritage of the South Downs National Park. You will be working to develop projects and influence partners to take care of and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the South Downs. Consolidating the work of the first five years you will also have the opportunity to shape the first Cultural Heritage Strategy and implement this with partners.

Through working with community groups, landowners, specialist groups, Historic England, the Arts Council and others you will be able to influence how the diverse cultural heritage is appreciated, protected and managed. Although you will work occasionally with planning archaeologists and HERs this is not a planning role.

You will work closely with relevant colleagues as appropriate, often advising them and working to influence delivery of quality schemes across the park.

Sound like something that interests you? Think you can really add value to the role? Meet the person specification? Then please apply!
