The cost of the day includes an artisan lunch, tea and coffees, and all tools and materials. Please note that the House is closed for conservation and there will be no tour included.
Suitable for all levels. This workshop aims to encourage you to visually record the things that surround you. By creating a visual journal you will be re interpreting them in an exciting way by experimenting with a range of media and techniques including collage, text, print and drawing.
Using the everyday things that surround us, visual memoirs can help us record dreams, fleeting moments, travels, places and experiences. Forge the habit of creativity and make an enduring and beautiful record of particular places and experiences that are special or important to you.
About the tutor
Sarah Colbourne is a local artist who has led many workshops at Charleston. After Art College she has exhibited her work throughout the UK and regularly takes part in the Brighton Festival Artists open house event. After gaining an MA in Fine Art in 2003 she continues to work at the University of Brighton as a tutor teaching visual research to art degree students. “My work is a response to my immediate surroundings of the Sussex landscape, sense of place and memory are important themes in my drawings and paintings”
