Stargazing evening with HantsAstro
21 February 2020
19.30 to 21:30
As part of the South Downs National Park ‘Dark Skies at Night’ festival, Butser Ancient Farm are delighted to be hosting an evening of stargazing on Friday 21st February 2020.
Doors open at 7.30pm, when visitors can buy hot and cold drinks in our visitor centre, and at 8pm Dave Woods from Hants Astro will give a short introduction to the night sky.
Guests can then step outside into our ancient world and view stars and planets millions of years old through state-of-the-art telescopes.
In May 2016 the South Downs National Park gained International Dark Sky status due to its low levels of light pollution – what better way to celebrate this achievement than by stargazing on the highest point of the National Park?
This event is part of the South Downs ‘Dark Skies’ Festival running from are Friday 7 February until Sunday 23 February 2020. Celebrate the South Downs International Dark Skies Reserve designation at star parties, talks and family activities across February half-term!
