Become a Little Wild Thing at Pulborough Brooks! Little Wild Things is our fortnightly nature group aimed at preschool children aged between 2 1/2 and 5 years old. The natural world is filled with all sorts of wonders just waiting to be discovered by your little ones. You and your child will be able to meet some of the amazing creatures that we are giving a home to on our nature reserve, while learning something new, getting a bit mucky and having lots of fun! During each session, we will focus on a theme and do a range of related activities, including a story and a craft to take home. The sessions are designed to be as hands-on and sensory as possible, encouraging child-led exploration and natural play. Activities will include minibeast hunting, worm charming, butterfly hunting, outdoor games and storytelling. The best way to connect with nature is to be out in it! We will be spending time outdoors as much as possible during our session so come prepared to get a bit muddy – waterproof coats and willies are recommended for rainy days, and sunhats and plenty of sun cream during the spring and summer months. Refreshments will be provided for the children (usually squash in the summer and hot chocolate in the winter). Parents are welcome to make use of our café for hot drinks, snacks and cakes after the session.
