Festive Candle Making Course with Beeswax at The Sustainability Centre

Learn how to make festive candles with an award winning beeswax candle-making expert at our Centre in the Hampshire South Downs. The course will cover: Collecting and cleaning wax Selecting the correct size wick and preparing it Making dipped and moulded candles of your own We will use locally produced beeswax to make the candles.
THE COURSE WILL GIVE PARTICIPANTS
You will leave at the end of the day with one moulded candle and a pair of dipped candles. The course will give you an understanding of how beeswax is collected and cleaned, and how to make a variety of candle types with beeswax. You will also take home a candle-making booklet.
WHO IS THIS COURSE SUITABLE FOR?
No previous experience is required.

ABOUT THE TUTOR
Margaret Johnson has long been fascinated by beeswax and has been candle-making for over thirty years. She has won many awards for her candles, locally, regionally and nationally. Margaret is a highly regarded candle-making tutor and has run courses for the British Beekeepers Association. She has also been a National Honey Show Judge.

Car From the A3 and A3M From the A3 take the Clanfield turn off (South of Petersfield and the Queen Elizabeth Country Park, north of Waterlooville and Horndean). Follow the signs for Clanfield and the brown tourist signs. Turn right at the Rising Sun Pub on to the East Meon Road. Follow this road for 1.6 miles to the top of the hill. Turn left by the thatched cottage (sign posted to Droxford). We are ¼ mile further along on the left.
