Some people find the idea of a website storing information on their computer or mobile device a bit intrusive, particularly when this information is stored and used by a third party without them knowing. Although this is generally quite harmless you may not, for example, want to see advertising that has been targeted to your interests. If you prefer, it is possible to block some or all cookies, or even to delete cookies that have already been set; but you need to be aware that you might lose some functions of that website.

South Downs Dark Skies Festival

The South Downs Dark Skies Festival, held over two weeks in February, will celebrate the International Dark Skies Reserve designation with star parties, talks, observations and other family activities.

Discover the Dark Side of the National Park during a whole day of family stargazing activities starting at the Chichester Planetarium and culminating in a star party in Midhurst where you can learn about nocturnal wildlife, astrophotography and be taught how to set up and use your own telescope properly.

To find out what and where other activities are taking place across the National Park visit the South Downs National Park events section.

You can also find information on stargazing and fascinating dark skies activities for young people in the South Downs National Park learning zone.
