South Downs National Park Authority Takes Important First Decisions: Jun 22, 2010; At the third, full Authority Meeting, held in public at Arundel Town Hall on Tuesday (15 June), the Members of the South Downs National Park Authority made their first important decisions about how the Authority will operate.; Read more >>

Chair elected for Planning Committee: Jun 22, 2010; Andrew Shaxson has been elected Chair of the Planning Committee for the South Downs National Park Authority at a meeting held on 15 June. Neville Harrison was also elected as Deputy Chair of the Planning Committee.

Until April 2011, during the National Park Authority's shadow year, the role of the Planning Committee will be to establish efficient Planning procedures and policies. This is in preparation for when the South Downs National Park Authority becomes the sole local planning authority for the National Park area from April 2011 onwards.; Read more >>

Minister Visits the South Downs: Dec 11, 2009; Huw Irranca Davies, the Minister for the Marine and Natural Environment, visited Midhurst on 10 December 2009 for discussions with the Leaders of the 15 Local Authorities in the Park and with local farmers and landowners.; Read more >>
