The South Downs Volunteer Ranger Service is a voluntary organisation that works in partnership with the South Down National Park Authority, looking after and helping to conserve the special qualities of the South Downs.
The core activities of the VRS are practical conservation and access improvement work. The VRS also undertakes a wide variety of other work including, working alongside Park staff at public events and office based projects.
Having such a dedicated and wide ranging team of volunteers has made it possible to support a range of projects that, without the numbers of helpers available, we would not be able to do.
For more information about getting involved in helping to conserve our natural environment, please see the Getting Involved pages.
