Audit of Accounts – Notice of Public Rights
Audit Commission Act 1998, sections 15 - 16
Accounts and Audit Regulations 2011, Regulations 9, 10, 21, 22, & 24
Each year the authority’s accounts are audited and any person interested has the opportunity to inspect and make copies of the accounts and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating to them. For the year ended 31 March 2012 these documents will be available on application to Brighton & Hove City Council, Central Financial Services, Financial Services, King’s House, Grand Avenue, Hove between 9.00a.m and 4.30p.m on weekdays between 25 June 2012 and 20 July 2012.
Local Government electors and their representatives also have:
• the opportunity to question the auditor about the accounts. The auditors will be at Bicentennial House, Southern Gate, Chichester for this purpose on 25 July 2012 and will continue to be available until the audit has been completed;
• the right to attend before the auditor and make objections to the accounts or any items in them. Written notice of any objection must first be given to the auditor and a copy sent to Brighton & Hove City Council.

The audit is being carried out by Mrs Helen Thompson, Audit Commission, Bicentennial House, Southern Gate, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 8EZ and will be conducted under the provisions of the Audit Commission Act 1998 and the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2011.

INSPECTION OF STATEMENTS OF ACCOUNTS
Accounts and Audit Regulations 2011, reg.11
NOTICE is hereby given that:
(1) the audit of accounts of the above-named South Downs National Park Authority for the year ended 31st March 2011 has been concluded;
(2) The Statement of Accounts are available for inspection by any persons interested , at Kings House, Grand Avenue, Hove, on working days between the hours of 9.30 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. when any such interested may make copies of the statements and reports or extracts therefrom;
(3) Copies of the statements of accounts will be delivered to any such elector on payment of a small charge to cover administrative costs.
(4) The Statement of Accounts are also available to view on the Authority’s website

The Local Authorities (Members' Allowances) (Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations 2001
Notice is hereby given that the South Downs National Park Authority has, under the above Regulations, made the following payments to each Member for the period 1 April 2011 to 31 March 2012 in accordance with the approved Members' Scheme of Allowances.
